The girls are getting huge. I can't wait for the next pedi appt to see how tall they are. Riley already hangs over her car seat a bit, unlike Morgan who is still shorter then her sister. They have been nuts the last few days, and maybe it was the full moon but MAN can you say bipolar!
One second they are happy, the next flipping out.. No rhyme or reason either.
They are however getting to the point that they want to be held more and well It's hard to hold two babies when they weigh about 16 to 18 pounds each. Not to mention having a 22 month old see you holding them and now he wants to be picked up. So I have delt with the fact that my kids will have to "cry it out" at times cause Momma was not born with 6 to 8 arms and even if I was I don't think it would be enough.
Morgan may be shorter then her sister but she is still ahead in the learning department. She will sit up on her own for a little while and does really well. She pulls forward a lot trying to pull herself up to sit all the time. She rolld from back to belly and belly to back with no trouble at all. She will stand when given two fingers to hold on to while she is on your lap. She does very well.
Riley has finally started to bare weight on her feet (what I was worried about) She won't stand yet like her sister does but is doine most of the other stuff, but not the sitting. You can prop her up and she will stay for a few seconds but after that she falls forward, back or to the side. She is still building those stomach muscles up to hold herself up better. At this point, now that she bars weight on her legs (even if it's not as often, or as well as Morgan) I am not worried like I was. I know all kids are different and I think she is just going to be a little slower in getting there. She is the baby so the youngest gets away with more (isn't that what they say?) Morgan is the middle child so maybe she has more to prove (Middle Child Syndrome)
I was given some advice though by a few people that have made small talk when they have seen me out with the kids (strangers most of them) and that is to not tell them who was born first until they are older. That way they don't play the "I'm older then you card while fighting, and believe me these kids will be all fighting I am sure. They both have strong personalities.
THey will be 7 months old tomorrow and I don't know where the time has gone. I do wish though that the next few months fly by so for 1. they will hold there own bottles, and 2. they will sleep through the night, which they still don't do. If they fall asleep at 8 they are usually up by 9, then they fall asleep again at 10 and they are up at 10:30 or 11.. THey are usually not out for the night, or what I call for the night until 12 or 12:30 and then most of the time sleep 5 hrs before waking up to be fed. They will then take a full bottle with cereal and go right back to sleep. This is most of the time. The last week though, they have been all over the place. Sometimes I think they stay awake 20 hours a day, or so it feels like it.
We will also be moving soon and the girls will have there own room. I am still debating to have them share a room for a while or let them have there own room right away. If they share then we get a play room, if they have there own room then there is no play room and I'm sure toys will be all over as usual. (Then again with a play room I am sure they will be all over too so does it really matter? probably not! lol)
We'll see how it goes... But boy will it be nice to have space. Good bye one bedroom apt and hello 5 bedroom house.. YAY!!!!
